The San Augustine Garden Club invites the community to a tree‑planting ceremony honoring the life and service of longtime member Doniece Smith. Two pecan trees, symbolizing both Arbor Day and our nation’s 250th anniversary, will be planted on the courthouse lawn.
The ceremony will take place Thursday, March 12 at 1:30 p.m. on the south side of the square.

As the state tree of Texas, the pecan has long been part of our local landscape, offering shade and nourishment for more than fifty years. We are proud to continue this legacy and welcome everyone to join us for this special occasion.
